Westside Football Club
Westside Football Club (or Miloni FC as it was originally called) was established in 1978 by the Original 21 at the bottom of the Vancouver Metro Soccer league (VMSL). By 1983, the club had risen into the men’s premier division, become a British Columbia registered Non-Profit Society and grown to three men’s and one women’s teams, the Red Devils.
Today, Westside Football Club is comprised of 17 recreational & competitive teams in the VMSL (mens) and Metro Women’s Soccer League (MWSL) open, U-21 and masters/classics divisions. Our roster of 400 players is supported by an alumni of over 2,000. While our base and centre of gravity remains the Vancouver west side, our membership has spread out across the lower mainland.
Our top men’s team has been Canadian National Champions twice and Provincial Champions four times. Our top O-35 men’s team has been Western Canadian Champions once and Provincial Champions three times. The club has also won the Men’s U-21, Men’s B Cup and Women’s B Cup Provincial Championships. Our top women’s team has been Provincial Cup silver medalists twice.
Camaraderie, Community, Character
While our fundamental goal is to provide the opportunity for adults to enjoy the health and social benefits of soccer, Westside Football Club is proud to be contributing to the communities in which we live and play. Westside Football Club is committed to youth soccer development and to charitable giving to help troubled children, fund education and fight cancer.
Supporting Youth Soccer Development
While Westside FC is not a youth soccer club, our members and alumni are coaching in youth soccer clubs around the lower mainland and particularly in Dunbar, Point Grey, Douglas Park and Kerrisdale where our alumni also often serve as technical directors.
Westside has a longstanding affiliation with UBC soccer. Westside has partnered with Vancouver FC and Fusion FC in support of Fusion FC’s HPL franchise. Westside hopes that soccer focused graduating youth players in Vancouver consider joining Westside FC as as they progress from youth soccer.
