Westside FC Goes Down 1 – 2 to Edmonton Victoria in 2010 Western Canadian Masters Championship Final

Westside Football Club won the Over 35 Provincial Cup in May to book its first trip to the Western Canadian Masters (Over 35) Championships. Westside FC got into the final undefeated against Edmonton Victoria who had also made it in 2009 to the final of the Western Canadians and narrowly lost. As fate would have it, Edmonton went up 15 minutes in on a defensive giveaway. Westside tied it up minutes into the second half and pressed and pressed for the winner. Edmonton was awarded a PK on 80 minutes after a FK was driven into the wall and adjudged to have been handled to go up 2 – 1 and that’s how it ended. Not a good day!
